Sportsman 500 HO carb issue
I have a 2012 Sportsman 500 HO that is leaking gas out of the very small clear plastic tubing that attaches to the bottom of the carb bowl. There is a circular in line disc attached to the hose. The hose runs under the ATV and ends just below the skip plate. It has never leaked liked this before. I unscrewed the bolt and drained the bowl, but still leaking.
Any ideas om how to stop the leaking? I keep it in the garage and can't take the gas smell.
Thanks

Common problem on the HO carbs mainly because of the funky float assembly that secures the needle and seat. The old BST34 didn't have this problem. Float adjustment is the number one problem along with gas seeping past the needle seat o-ring from using ethanol fuel. I'd have at least a new needle and seat on hand as float adjustment doesn't always stop the dripping and may still drip a little at an idle even with a new needle and seat.I'd always have the carb bowl drain/over flow tube past the bash plate to keep fuel off the engine Read this post on the BST40 carb on how to set the float level. On a Ktm but it's similar to the Polaris Mikuni carb with the same internals. The BST-40 Bible | Adventure Rider Goes into details on how to really set it right.
