Default Rims

Hello All,

I have a 2003 or 2004.5 Sportsman 500HO and would like to get a set of wheels so I can swap out tires when riding around the yard or trials/winter. My tires are, Front 25x8x12 and Rear are 25x11x12. What size rims should I be looking for? I think the bolt pattern is 4/156 but after that I'm lost and would anyone have any old ones they might want to get rid of?

Thanks

Thanks OPT,
I did see that chart but was confused when looking at the front and rear sizes. it looks like the same size rim is used for the front and back if you have a 12" rim for the rear.

It shows for the front - 25x8x12 tire use a 12x7, 4/156 wheel but the rear shows 25x11x10 tire to use a 10x8, 4/156 wheel. UNLESS switched to a 12" diameter (what I have) then use the same as the front. So both front and rear wheels are 12x7, 4/156. Is that how you guys see it?

Your last number in your tire size is your rim diameter. Like a 25x8x12 for example is a 25" diameter tire that is 8" wide on a 12" rim, pretty much a standard stock front tire size. The rear tires are usually wider, in your case they are 11" wide.

Wider tires should have wider rims. I know a guy who had 7" wide aftermarket rims on the front and back of his quad and the back tires looked funny the way they curved in to the narrow rims. It worked as long a he had those tires which as I recall never got much use.

Thanks for all the help. Looks like the front and back are the same size. 12x7, 4/156 4+3. I found some for $33 each, I might get them.

Thanks again.

Any stock Polaris 12" or 14" rim will fit. They all have the 4x156 bolt pattern. Standard Polaris offset is 4x3 and aftermarket rims vary. Watch Craigslist in your area. Can get stock take-offs pretty cheap usually.
