Default 2002 Polaris sportsman 400

I just bought this sportsman from a friend and it had a lot of issues after buying a new bendix a new carb and a new battery it still won't turn over with ease. I test ed for sparkcand it gets it. There is fuel going to the carb though the in hose and I sprayed starter fluid in the carb and it caught flame after trying and trying idk what to do. Any help? I have spark I have fuel to carb I have brand new carb haven't done anything else to it

Sorry about that, was thinking about the Scrambler 400.. I'd check the valve clearance first..006 intake and exhaust. On that new carb is it a Mikuni or one of those knock of Chinese carbs? Valve clearances are checked when the cam sprocket index pin is straight up,lobes down.Same as the Sportsman 500.One other thing that new owners aren't aware of is that thumb lever slack must not be more than 1/8" or etc contacts can touch and cause no spark or erratic problems. Cable adjuster is down from the throttle housing.
