Polaris Scrambler 500 Don't Charge Battery

Hi,

I have a Srambler 500, and i have 2 problems:

1º Don't charge Battery
2º Fan is alway's on....

The first one is more important. can anyone help me?

If it's a 2004,2005 or later model, the troublesome ecm module has failed. It controls charging, fan operation among several other functions.
2004-2006 POLARIS Sportsman 450 500 Scrambler OEM Surepower ECM PDM 2203348 | eBay You may be able to clean the connectors with contact spray, use some electrical grease and it might solve the problem.Worth a try. If it's a silver ecm,it's been replaced already under the recall. If it's the Black Chinese module it's still under the free recall.http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2008/...o-Fire-Hazard/

This recall it's for all units around the World? I'm from Portugal, a small country in the other side of the ocean :D

where can i find the model number? i only find the VIN number...

thank's :)

You have the Chinese version and it needs to be replaced!! As far as international replacement you need to talk to a Polaris Dealer in your area. According to the US recall list a 2004 Scrambler wasn't on it,2005 model was. Again you year model is important as to where it's possible you can have it replaced free of charge or not. 17 digit vin number. The 10th digit is your year model. Whether Polaris will replace or you have to do it yourself,it needs to be done..

Sorry, i can't find serial mode :(

In the front, it's only VIN, and the left side near front, VIN number too.

Serial Model, i don't know where to find....

The 10th digit of the VIN is a 5 so it's a 2005 model year and the ECM should be replaced by the dealer free of charge under the safety recall.

But the date in the upper line say's:

05/xx/2004

the VIN Number it's the important?

Tank's

It's a 2005 model made in 2004. I didn't think they made new models that early in the year.
