1999 sportsman 4x4 500 Polaris

The 4x4 does not work in reverse. I was told that a 1999 does not suppose to work in reverse. any help

Have you pushed the yellow over ride button while in reverse? This is the only way to bypass the reverse limiter so you can have full power in reverse.This allows awd in reverse if the system is in good shape.
