Default 2009 sportsman 800efi x2 . Power issues

I have a 09 sportsman 800efi x2 . Turn the key I have power to the dash I hear the fuel
pump go to turn to start... nothing. I replaced the starter relay and still have nothing. But if I jump the starter it will start rite up, so I ordered a new key switch also. All the fuses are new. Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you have power to the dash, lights, etc then power is flowing from the left control switch also. On the 3 position switch there should be power on the small solenoid wire when you are in the crank position. Could possibly be the ignition switch and the replacement switch may solve it.Not an uncommon thing to have switches fail.If the new switch you ordered doesn't help, then you need to trace the solenoid trigger wire back to the ignition switch connector for continuity. Problem may be there.

Scrape any paint or rust from the solenoid mounting area to get a better ground, reinstall the solenoid and see if works then. If it doesn't sounds like you have a faulty new solenoid if power is going to it.

Not to sound like a jerk, but did you squeeze the brake when starting. I used to forget and wonder why it wouldn't start.

Don't need to squeeze the break when the atv is in park.

Ok, my bad. Maybe it's only on the newer ones and/or some of the older ones. But, my memory isn't what it used to be.

opt, I cleaned that area also installed new relays, now all it does is click out the ECM box under the handle bars & blow the main fuse.
So I have installed new
battery, ignition switch, relays & solenoid now all it's does is click out that box & blow the main after 3 turns

The 800 was also bad on wiring shorts and corrosion on the terminals of their Delphi type fuse block. I'd pull the block up and check the pins and wires. Wires would pull out or touch other wires. Several people on the forum have had problems with them and replacements are on ebay or amazon if needed. PER-080&029&036-4 ATO / ATC Delphi Fuse Block Panel 4 Gang 12 V Blade Style Fuse | eBay Better yet if that's the problem area you can get better moisture resistance fuse blocks also.
