Default 2017 sportsman 570 questions

I've decided to get a new quad, I've always bought used and it's time I bought a brsbd new one so what issues have they fixed with the 570?
-pipe melting plastics and seat?
-clutch cover snorkel issues?
-battery location?
these are some of the issues I read up about the earlier 570s but was wondering if they fixed any of these issues with the 2017 model. I'm going to look at them tomorrow and I'd like to know what to ask about. Im used to the older pre 2010 models.
Anyone know how the engine braking compared to the honda rubicon? I personally didn't like how much engine braking my buddies brand new rubicon 500 has. Also didn't care for the power steering. Not to mention I feel its just one more expensive unit to have to worry about and maintain

I've seen a lot of people on the forum complain about the battery location but haven't read of any actual problems with it as far as I can recall. I'm interested in what answers you get to your questions because it's one of the ATVs I would consider if I bought one.

Well I posted a wanted ad on craigslist last night for a used 2015-2016 570 for the hell of it. Hoping someone else would take the hit buying from a dealer and I got a response lol!! Just picked up a 2017 sportsman 570 no eps with only 28 miles and an extended warranty until 4/2020. Literally newest used quad out there. Got it for $4700!! What do you guys think? All stock and came with battery tender. Guys on craigslist are trying to get over $5000 for 2015s with over 400 miles and no warranty left

Good deal. Now go to a Polaris dealer and make sure it is registered with your name on there end. There is a tsb out that gets you an insulated full right panel.

I went right to the dealership that it was just purchased from this past April. They said there is no need to transfer warranty into my name because it goes off the vin # that's all they need when warranty work needs to be done. I also asked if there were any recalls or if any recalls had been done and they ran the vin. They said no recalls and no recalls have been done on this machine.
i did notice the heat shield on the pipe was rattling when i unloaded it today but I'll have to check to see if the bolts are tight first. I dropped it off at home and went to work so I really haven't looked it over completely.
the guy who bought it in April suddenly passed away so his wife had her brother sell all of his toys and truck. Unfortunate situation, they wanted $4900 and I had $4700 in cash on me so we made the deal. Luckily they seen my wanted ad because they were going to post it this weekend on Craigslist and put it out at the road for sale as well

It is a tsb, not a recall. It is for 2015-2017 sportsman 570. It is a complete heatshield for the rightside.

Right side panel is free and is dealer installed.

Ok. Not to sound clueless lol but what is tsb? Also is it required for dealer to install or can I pick it up and install myself? Reason I ask is because dealers Around me are booked out over 3 weeks. I also don't want it sitting there when I can easily do it myself.
this is all new to me, I've always owned used machines with no warranty and also habe never brought a machine to a dealer to have it worked on. Thanks for the info

Sorry, a technical service bulletin. It has to be dealer installed.

oh ok. So wouldn't that habe come up today when they ran the vin or when I asked them a dozen questions about what has been done with the 2017 model to resolve the heat and melting seat/plastics issue lol. Reason number 1 million I don't care for the dealers working on my machines
