Ok. So if the mount separates it will let the engine and clutch rock forward or back causing it to rub? I will check also see if I can adjust or move that bracket.

Yes that can happen.Simple pry bar lift on the mounts can check these out for separation. Plus if mounts are worn and soft they can cause engines to flex. Top mount, front and rear engine mounts.

Will do. Anything special to know about that bracket? Does it just move the backing plate in or out?

Just moves the plate in and out.Have the cover on it at and at an idle move the bracket in or out until the clutch doesn't hit the cover.

I had to adjust that bracket on an old Sportsman 500 I had. When I went over bumps too hard there was enough flex everywhere to make the clutch hit the cover. I adjusted the bracket, out a little IIRC, and that was the end of the rubbing.

It's the ONLY bracket at the front of the backing plate.

Go it and adjusted it. To where the clutch doesn't rub at ALL, the adjuster feels loose. If I snug it up the clutch rubs faintly. Should I go to where the adjuster is tight?
