Found it! It is in the front. Had to take off plastic on the left side of machine (not shifter side) to get it. What threw me off was wire is blue,I was looking for red. The tool that comes with the machine is too long! no way you can use it to remove the plug. Glad it happened at my house and not out in the woods!

Take a pic at a different angle.Looks like the blamed plug boot is right next to the exhaust pipe...That just doesn't look right..

I was right when I said, "Maybe you have to pull the side panels off to see yours.", but I wouldn't have been looking anywhere near the exhaust. I know it's a new design but I never saw an engine with a spark plug next to the exhaust. Intake yes, but not exhaust. The 450 H.O.s went from a 500 to a 570 to a different 500 engine. If I'm not mistaken the oldest 450 H.O.s used a long spark plug socket that the Fuji 500s had for as long a I can remember. You may have a spark plug tool for the wrong engine.

Still have my old angled Mac plug boot puller that works on just about anything.Angles up,down or sideways to pop boots out. Worked great on the old 500 through 800 engines with out tearing up those high $ plug boots. If it's hard to get to the plug get a thin walled socket with angle adapter and wobbly extension.Makes the job easy and saves a lot of busted knuckles.

Great idea! I am going to get one to keep in the machine for when it happens in the woods.
