It's on the bearing.. I don't know the generic number listed on it as I had too many in the parts bin I could grab when I need one.If you can read this you have a lot better eyes than I have... This is the 3554509 bearing listed on amazon.. Plus here an image of the other bearings you'll need. You can see the part number starts with an L.(L44643) Here's a post on this and the 3554509 from Polaris Atv Forum I stole.. 500 HO wheel bearing #s - Polaris ATV Forum

Default Thanks for all the help!

I got all the bearings in and all new races. Thanks for all the advice and all the help. Once again, bravo OPT. I swore I was done with Polaris but I just picked up a 06 450 yesterday so it's time to part with the 2000 Xplorer. We shall see if it sells. The price on the 06 was just too good to pass up. It's not perfect but it runs good! I have included a pic of my 2000 as well. That bike has a ton of work done to it. Full engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, and a bunch of other new parts.

Good looking 450 for being 12 years old. Glad the Xplorer is up and running. Give forum member cornermike a holler on the Xplorer as he has a stable full of 2 stokes. He may have room for one more..

The wheels on the sportsman could use some paint. Black would look good. The Xplorer looks like the one that one of friends had before he got his Sportsman 850. His Xplorer needed enough work over the years for him to know it inside and out.

I have a powdercoater down the road. I am taking the wheels off tomorrow and having them powdered black Tuesday. Then mounting new tires front and back. Any suggestions on tires? I liked the Bear Claws in the front but I was hoping to go a little more aggressive with the extra torque of the 4 stroke. I honestly like the looks of my Xplorer better.

Default Well, she's gone!

The Xplorer 400 has left the stable for good. I will miss it, but then I will think about how much money that quad cost me. I do have a question. Why did the Sportsman go to a narrower tire???

25x11x10 on the Xplorer, 25x11x12 or 26x11x12(AT model) on the Sportsman 450. Rim size may be what you notice.

Default Opt

What is the max tire that you recommend running on front and back on the Sportsman 450? I blew the belt to pieces on the first ride. Right now it's down for the time being powdercoated.
