Default 1988 Polaris Trail Boss 250cc AWD Two Stroke

so I got a new toy
https://imgur.com/gallery/enDeATp

for an NY quad I think it’s in pretty decent shape for the year
got it for $300, needs a new tire on right side(came with it), carb runs like **** sometimes, headlight was shot with 22, no battery for electric start(previous owner used a rigged up battery), no air filter box ( or air filter ), removed oil reserve, brake cable is seized, missing a few things here and there like choke cable lmao

so, did I do alright in your opinion? I rode it around it rips, my first two stroke
ill b mixing gas and slapping *** in no time

sounds like y the time you put the correct missing parts into it you will have a lot of money into it. I wouldn't run it with out an airbox/filter if I was you. get dust or what ever in the cly then you'll need a new top end too.

If it helps I got a 86 trail boss in slightly better shape for 500 outside philly. The 80s versions were bare bones features but I’m not missing any parts which can be the expensive part. So far I’m $250 in for cylinder bore and new piston and about $200 in various new parts and specialized tools. I’ll probably be 20 hours of effort but that’s the fun part.

So so a refreshed basic atv for under a thou and ready to last another 20 years sounds like a good deal to me...
