03 Sportsman 700 Ignition issue

First time posting here. I'm stumped! New ignition switch won't work, but I can jump the switch and start it and also jump the switch for the lights on dash to come on. Why can I jump it but switch wont work? Thanks for any info.

Your new switch maybe bad.
