06 Predator 500 Start button don't work battery won't charge
06 Predator 500
I replaced left handlebar start/kill/headlight control and neutral brake start diode and the start button still doesn't work. I can get it fired up by jumping the solenoid and when I put my volt meter on the battery it stays at 12 volts flat. I also have to force it to stay running with the throttle engaged. As soon as I let off the throttle it dies. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thank you |
I would check the two wiring pigtails that go into the left controls. If the wires even look suspect, replace the pigtails. Had an 06 predator that would cut out when the wires were wiggled…

did you test the solenoid? when you push the start button, it should send power down to the solenoid when opens the cross circuit giving power to both sides engaging the starter. If there is less then 12 volts that might be why it wants to stall as it needs full voltage to power the computer. check your rectifier and make sure the harness is not corroded.

Check your throttle and make sure your cable is tight enough. There is a dead man switch in the throttle that will kill spark in the event of a broken cable
