I noticed when looking over my Sp 500 that I have hub oil stain on the inside of my front tire rim. After checking the fluid level it was discovered that it was down quite a bit. I suspect it is the seal on the inside of the hub assembly. Has anyone changed this seal yet? What was the cost of the seal?. Thanks for any info.

Same thing happened to mine. It was not the seal. Jack up the front end of the quad, grab the wheel and check for any side to side play. If you have play remove the 3 screws holding the plastic hub cover on.(after draining the fluid) remove the cotter pin and and loosen 1/2-3/4 turn.then tighten untill you feel it pull together. You should tighten to about 20-30 ft.lbs. then back the nut off to 100 inch lbs.or roughly 10 ft.lbs. Replace cotter pin and replace plastic cover. Be careful not to overtighten or you will spilt the plastic. Refill hub with Mobil 1 synthetic transmission fluid or Polaris demand drive hub fluid. Most of the time this is the problem rather than the seal it's self.
Hope this helps.

yep, i replaced the hub seal on mine, it's a straight forward job, my seal had mud under the lip of the seal but since i had a new seal in hand i just changed it out.the seal cost around $9.
