We spent all day on our 99 SP 500's in the snow in MN. That night, when we got back, I noticed the fans were completly encased in ice. Atleast 2-3" of it. Needless to say, the fans weren't turning. I thawed them both out, and much to my suprise they started working because the nipco heated up the radiator enouph to start them. My question is, how much of this can they take? Should I design some sort of shroud to keep the snow away from it? Has anyone had problems with them before?

I had posted awhile back my "snowguard" I fit between the lower axle guard and the front bumper. It is 14" X 14" and I bolted it through the 2 holes in the shield. This worked great in the snow, the rad breathed fine with cold air going through the winch hole in the bumper. Works great when you start jumping snow banks!
