I just went out to my garage only to find a mouse nest under my seat (on both quads). Thankfully, I can't see that they've chewed through anything. I'm building a better garage/shed this weekend and hopefully that will take care of the problem. I use one of those "porta-shelters" right now which are very tough but not very secure (no floor). Any suggestions as far as building my new shed? Thanks...

um. sure put a floor on it haha. Just make sure nothing can get inside of it.

Build it on Patio Stones, I would put some driveway stones down over the dirt then level out the stones really well, then lay your Patio stones down, then build the shed. There should be some metal tabs that have holes in them to screw the shed to the ground, just drill holes in the Patio Stones and put some screws into the stones, that will hold it down well.

If there are any holes at the bottom where the shed meets the Patio stones, just fill it with cement or caulking. This should keep them rodents out.

Good Luck

I have been told moth balls under the seat will help keep mice from building nests there (or in the airbox). After a while the smell weakens, but a friend who does that claims it lasts from late summer, through their nesting season.

Or you could put like 10 cats in your shed

I've had the same problem with my snowmobiles and my Austin Healy. I have tried mothballs in the Healy and I think they work. But the bottom line: get CATS, and the more the merrier, cause mice cause a lot of problems.
