ATTN. JIM MALONEY!

After I cased it out falling over 6'vertically, I rode a couple more MX tracks when I noticed I broke the strut by blowing out some rubber O ring & the oil leaked out. Since it's rebuildable it only cost $3 for parts & $30 for labor. Thats cheap!!! It cost $70 in next day shipping since my friend w/ his FAST 250R& other w/ his DS650 were all going to a really cool MX track which I didn't want to miss. I cranked up the pressure to 50psi to see what happened. It was an improvement on jumps & rode a slight amount stiffer but hardly noticeable & as a matter of fact I think it kept it more stable in very fast hard turns, it kept it from rolling. I definately push the struts each lap until they bottom & yes they will eventually bottom but so does the other guys & even the DS w/ his 12" of travel bottomed out on the same jump. I'm very pleased w/ them to say the least. I'm at the limit of the machine as a 4wd on an MX track, I mean I cant jump any higher farther w/o starting to damage the frame so I'm going to start checking the archives for entries into removing the 4wd to save weight only for MX summer season. There is 50lbs difference from a 99 Scrambler 4x4 & a Sport & since I've already removed 55+lbs, another 50lb reduction might be great for the MX track during the summer season & then I would put back on the 4x4 for the PA muddy fall, winter & spring seasons. I'm sure I'll be posting some questions on this. I want to improve the brakes next. People are suprised how well this thing does on a MX track. If your not jumping then leave it at 30psi & get ready for riding on a cloud. Hope this helps.
