You do know about the recall right? The top speed is around 53. E-shift is only on Honda's ( I think you are talking about ESP). It is a handle bar located switch that you push instead of using your foot to shift gears. Hope this helped

Go to the home page and it will tell you. I would take this ATV back. I have never heard anything good about them. My friends worked for 1 day.

WASHINGTON, D.C.– In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 12,000 all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Screws in the ATV’s manual transmission can loosen, causing the rear wheels to lock. This can cause the driver to lose control of the ATV and crash, possibly resulting in injury or death.

CPSC and Polaris Industries have received reports of thirteen incidents. Three resulted in accidents involving injuries when the transmissions failed on the ATVs. The accidents resulted in injuries that involved multiple broken bones, internal injuries, and abrasions and bruises.

The recalled ATVs are the 2000, 2001 and 2002 model year “Xpedition 425” with 5-speed manual transmissions. The ATVs are either red or a tan metallic, and have “Xpedition 425” and “Polaris” written on both sides of the bodywork. On the left-hand side of the ATV on the clutch cover, near the footrest, appear the words “5-Speed”.

Polaris dealers sold these ATVs nationwide from February 1999 through October 2001 for about $6,300.

Consumers should stop using these ATVs immediately and contact their local Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair. Consumers also can call Polaris Industries toll-free at (800) 765-2747 between 7 a.m. and 2 a.m. ET Monday through Friday and between 8 a.m. and 12 a.m. on weekends, or log on to the company’s website at www.polarisindustries.com.

Polaris ATVs with automatic transmissions (belt drive) and Xpedition 325 ATVs are not included in this recall.

Purchasers were sent direct mail notification of this recall.

you know, i'm kinda thinking about going back to a foot shift ATV. it was a lot of fun slamming that old '88 honda 300 4X4 through the gears!
and i am concidering the xpedition 425 even though they came out with a recall for units sold between February 1999 through October 2001.
BIG DEAL! everything Mfg has recalls.
my friends ride them...they're a good machine

If you want a foot shifter get a Honda Foreman. The Polaris weighs to much to power slide.

OffRder15, Have you read the post where the guy wants power for his Xpedition 425? Sounds pretty desperate, huh?

Before every body writes bad about me, read my post on the second page. OffRder51, No, I do not think honda is too good to have a an ATV recalled. I actually prefer Polaris over Honda. I just don't like the Xpedition because I have only heard a few good things about them. Plus, my friends broke twice in one week. He finally had to take it back. I just didn't want Nike5131 to die on his Xpedition, that is why I told him about the recall. My friend is the one who told me that it didn't powerslide. I didn't get to try to powerslide because the piece of crap broke before I made it to his house.
