It concerns me because I was told the Polaris' with the digital odometer has something to do with the 4WD, as in, no speedo - no 4WD !!! Is this true???? Is there something that normally goes bad ??? Like the cable or the speedo itself, Thanks for the help.

no offense, lol, but you can please rephrase your question in English?

The speedometer has nothing to do with whether the 4WD works. Go clean your sensor maybe? I know mine went bad once and had to be replaced.

Yes, the speedo as a unit controls the awd system. I had one go out and no awd. Replaced the speedo unit and awd came back. This is fairly rare as I understand it.

I am positive about this as it has happened to me. Call your local dealer and double check.

mine started acting strange it worked sometime and sometimes it would read 30 mph and i was doing 5mph i was told it was a sensor in the wheels but i wanted to wait till after hunting season to fix it so the mechanic told me to unplug the speedo and i did and my 4wd works fine. i will get it fixed later

The Speedometer is around $200.00 for one on the newer Sportsmans. I just had one replaced under warranty after fighting with the dealership. If I wouldn't have been able to get it covered under warranty they told me it would run about $220.00 including labor. Mine was 5 days passed the warranty period and they did not want to warranty it at first. They also told me that when it goes out it is in 4wd all the time so who knows what really is true.
