Changed fluid and bearings in front hubs. Now the 4 wheel drive won't work. It has 12 volts going to it when button is pushed but no 4 wheel drive. Any ideas?

well... i would say that you managed to move the outer seal surface. without having the proper clearence the coils will not hold the right amount of friction again the amature plates. and another thing... if the plates are bent at all they will need to be replaced, dont try to straighten them, it wont work. easiest thing to do is get a manual, it tell you how to do this...... if you search back through my posts i thijnk youll find where ive gone through this with someone before....

Did you disassemble the hud when changing the fluids? Or, did you just remove the plug and cap?
If you did not disassemble the hub, I do not see how you could have damaged the armature plate or anthing else for that matter. |
Yes, I removed the hub and replace the oil seal and sleeve it rides on. It was grooved and leaking oil out the back of the hub
