Is there anyone who has any experience with pipe/clutch kits from HPd, Aaen, or Hot Seat that can tell me which company makes a better pipe/clutch kit for the Scrambler 500? Any input is appreciated. I noticed Aaen's website is nice and I was wondering how good their products are. I like HPd, but that pipe it UUUGLY! Is it true HPd is developing a new pipe for the 500?

What is AAENs web site?

You will probably hear a lot of different things, Most of witch have little truth. No body has tested (or will show test results) pipes like they do for Yamaha or Honda to find out what does what. All that most people can do is tell that what they got is good. In comparision, well untill some one goes and DYNO tests each one, we won't know.

No matter who you go with (HPD, AAEN, HSP) you will be very happy, they all seem to have great products. The best suggestion I can give you is pick a company and stick with them for all you performance needs, they make their stuff, to work with their stuff.

That is the 100% truth. Save yourself alot of time and money. I pieced my 500 together from FMF, Hot Seat, Aaen and EPI. I did get it to work but it was 10 times more trouble than it was worth.

An FMF sliencer for $170 will give you just as much power as any of the others. It's a simple instal, sounds great and adds a ton of power.

On the clutch I would go with a good belt, a secondary roller and a green primary spring.

I'm just curious, does the HPd pipe weigh more than the stock pipe? It looks alot bigger.

Nevermind all my questions about the Ugly Ducking from HPd because I just found out that it is discontinued. HPd's new pipe from what I understand is smaller, lighter, and DOES NOT require you to cut off the original mounts to install. From what Rick at RCR told me, the new pipe is a whole lot better looking and still has the same HP gain, 4.5HP throughout the entire powerband. I'm putting this on my gotta have list!!! The only down side is that it now costs $300 instead of $249 and it's very hard to get. But heck, it has got to be the best pipe out there for the Sc500, it sucks that I can't get one for like a month, maybe longer.
