No More Polaris Bashing
#21
I would like to say thanks to Bill and Odin, for letting me know about the problems that a Grizzly has. First of all,I ride mostly in the mtns, with the elevation running from 5000- 10000feet above sea level.Never have I experienced over heating, and I have 2000 miles on the machine, in all weather conditions. The overheating problem on the Grizz must only be experienced by Polaris owners. The question of being loud and a fuel pig. The grizz has 100c.c's on the sp 500, of course fuel consumption is probably higher. But as far as pollution goes , that 2stroke xplorer puts off more pollution than any 4stroke and at around $12 a gallon for polaris 2cycle oil, it sure isn't more economical than the Grizz. As for being heavy , Polaris owners should be experts the sp500 is the heaviest of any ATV.
The subject of rear drums filling up with mud and water, I've never experienced that either. At least Odin was right about one thing ski- doo is the #1 sled. One last thought, if both of you keep telling yourselves that polaris is worth a ****, you just might become delusioned enough to believe it.

Might as well add my 2 cents worth. I had 2 Polaris' 2 strokes till I traded the Scrambler for a 400ex Honda. You are probably thinking I'm gonna bash... wrong. My riding style didn't fit the ride. I am more comfortable now on the 400ex, HOWEVER... I already miss the reverse, the big comfy seat, and the roomy ride. What's my point? I think both are fine rides. They just do things a little differently. As for the Grizzly guy bashing, and then getting bashed, let me try to help.
Grizz bashed on Polaris, but it appears he doesn't ride one, and maybe never has. Then, someone bashes HIS ride, apparently never having owned a Grizz. See? Everyone speaking of something they have no first hand experience with. So, Grizz... when you own a Polaris, and have bad times.. tell us about it. Till then, speak what you know.. not what you think. Thanks.

Why shouldn't people bash on Polaris, after all they sold the first Sp 500 knowing full well that the brake was faulty,
>Oh yea like the other big 4 has not done this like that big heat trap you are riding that overheats and the front bearings rust out of you are talking about polaris when yamaha made an atv that was 600cc that new there was no way it could stay cool without water cooling...give me a break
the extra long linkage in the actuator comes out of adjustment, to the point that you can't put it in gear,
>yes it takes every bit of 5 min. to fix you will be sitting longer than this waiting on that oven you call an atv to cool down.
and then it took another company to introduce engine braking before Polaris made it available.
>And like no companys have used ideas of polaris how bout the auto trans do you even own an atv??
The truth is Polaris would have continued to allow you to replace brake pads if yamaha hadn't introduced engine braking.
>Like I said no one has copied any of polaris ideas right...
Polaris Snowmobile's are another example , there are recalls every season.
It isn't that people are bashing polaris. It's just that alot of consumers are aware of the trash polaris produces.
>See if you can follow this trash through a deep mudhole or up a real steep incline with that heat trap you have...this is nothing to any other atv'er or toward any brand all atv's have good and bad points, this joker is just asking for it..

Get the riders who posted it in the yamaha section to call them or then again maybe the dealer in Pikeville KY could call them want his # he even said it got hot and overheated and yes he is a rider. As I said see if you can follow me up a steep hill or mud hole with that overheating 3 wheel drive heap...

at least when polaris riders have a problem they do admit to and what does riding 2000 or 20000 feet have to do with an oil cooled bike going 10 miles an hour getting hot...check out that site for the hot troubles be seeing ya

wygrizz!! I see you get all defensive when your quad is bashed. Thats what Im talking I dont want to bash anything anyone owns because than it becomes personal. Im proud of what I own the only problems Ive had one was my mistake, I heard the fan making a sound that I knew was not right, and a pin that that runs the speedodometer keeps breaking, but i should have that fixed on the next rainy day. You seem to be proud of your grizzly if you do in fact own one, so if you dont want it bashed dont bash mine.
Let's just Shut up and RIDE

WYGRIZZ,I never bought my Xplorer with even the slightest concern for economy,or pollution.Thats like buying a Vett and than worring about MPG.FUNNY EH?Your ATVing lack of experience is very evident.GO allmost anywhere in the Yamaha Forums and you'll see the overheating problems that some of the Grizz guys have. You speak of things you have little knowledge of.The Sportsman, though very heavy, is NOT the heaviest ATV.The Traxter by Bombadier is.Im very happy that your drum style brakes are not letting in mud and water on your Grizz. But I must say this,YOU HAVE TO GO INTO A MUD HOLE FIRST before this mishap will occur.Be happy with your Grizz, but DONT come into a Polaris Forum, bashing our quads and expect no remorse.WHAT COMES AROUND,GOES AROUND.====BILL
