quick question- is the 700 a v-twin?

is the 700 sportsman a v-twin or a regular (inline) twin. the reason i ask is cuz my friend and i are having an arguement over it and we wanna know whos right..i'm too lazy to look so could ya just tell me please?

it is a parallel twin. so its inline. the prarie 650 is the oppisite. i just noticed that. i wonder what the advantages/disadvantages are?

piranha, it is not a V TWIN because the cylinders dont make a V. go to the site it will show u that they are inline. they are parallel with each other.

in a car/truck engine an inline makes more torque and produces much less vibration than a v. it is also more rugged because it cant go out of balance like a v.

i can only assume that an atv engine has the same properties

yeh well not as much vibration in an inline is true. same with the torque. my sister has a vw jetta 1.8 TURBOCHARGED wolfsburg edition. it is sweet and its an inline. lots of torque with that turbo.
