Don't like Aaen green spring
I finally got my quad out to the trails after putting in the Aaen green primary, and I don't care too much for it. It has a very aggressive low end, but I'm sure I lost top end. Probably close to 10 mph. I have enough trouble keeping up with all my buddies on the Scramblers, Sportsmans, and Xplorers as it is. Just playing around with it around the house, I couldn't tell, but now I know. So I found a Polaris white primary at a dealer today. He is holding it for me. I'm supposed to go pick it up tomorrow. I hope this spring gives me my top end back, because I think it would be safe to say my son could have given me a run for my money on his Eton yesterday.

bet you like the white spring. But if you want to run with the bigger quads you may end up trading for one with more power you are limited with the 325.

Are you just trying different springs? Because you are jumping all around. Big difference between Pol White and AAEN Green.
There are A lot of different springs. My suggestion is buy the AAEN clutch tuning manual. Don't just buy springs blind. PrimarySpring----- Stall preload----- Stall Increase----- Full Shift (stock)-------------- 20lbs----------- Stock--------------------- 90lbs Polaris White------ 28lbs-------- ? --------------------------- 140lbs AAEN BROWN----- 50lbs----- 300RPM from stock----- 180lbs AAEN GREEN------ 60lbs----- 400 RPM from stock----- 200 lbs AAEN RED ---------- 90lbs----- 800 RPM from stock----- 230lbs Secondary Spring- Stiffer springs have Higher shift rpm and quicker back shift. |

Bubba, thanks for the insight. I wasn't really planning on changing the secondary, I was just wondering. I don't really understand the PVT clutch just yet. I put the Polaris white in today and I like it alot better. I haven't opened it up much yet, but as long as I don't go screaming down the road at 35 mph, I think I will be happy with it. I realize this is just a 325 and there's not alot more to be gotten out of it, I just wanted a little more snap on the low end. I didn't want it ALL on the low end, which is what the Aaen green gave me. The Aaen green is what Aaen suggested for the megaphone muffler.

I am certainly not surpriced that you were unhappy with the green spring. The white spring that you put on is not much different from your stock one. A little higher engagement (Stall preload almost 10lbs), higher Full shift out (50Lbs difference). Now that AAEN green spring had 40lbs more stall preload and 110lbs more for full shift out. |

How confident are you in those spring specs? I see the don't agree what the specs Aaen faxed me, nor with their web site. Also I don't see an Aaen brown, but do see that Aaen sells a brown they claim is a polaris part.... Thanks! dan |
