Default PARTS PARTS PARTS

I have a 1997 Polaris Sport 400cc and first of all I need to appologize to all of you who I annoyed for putting in duplicate titles in different areas, I was not aware that I could not do that, I just figured that would give me more chances to get some hits on here on what I needed. So I am sorry. but anyway I have a 1997 Polaris Sport 400cc and I need some major help I am totally shut down until I get these parts. I have shoped around and here is what I am needing for my four wheeler. The motor locked up and I currently have it all the way broke down. I need:

Complete Engine Kit
Crankshaft
Crank Seals
Complete Gasket Kit
Front and Rear Brake Pads
Starter

I know that I can find these parts ALOT cheaper that what I have found so far. The prices around here are as listed

Complete Engine Kit $100.00
Crankshaft $230.00
Crank Seals $28.00
Complete Gasket Kit $38.00
Front and Rear Brake Pads $100
Starter $339.99

I would love to know some websites or actual places I could get these parts for alot cheaper and I also need the actual Machine work done too so if any of you have good ideas or people to order from that is alot cheaper than this I would appreciate it.
I am totally open to suggestions
Thanks

Call Rick at RCR (Ritter) He might or might not be able to help you I know he saved me some money on some used cases when I cracked mine.

Jdogg: double check your prices at Partsland (go to ATV parts and slide down to your year and model), then check with Stockers Starters for a rebuilt starter.

I AM curious about how the motor locked up... is your 400 modded in any way... was it an oiling issue?

Good luck!

Dang Jim, that's a heck of a deal. Jdogg, call Rick Ritter at Ritter cycle (618-644-3211). I bought a redone crank through him for $135. You can buy a complete engine seal kit cheaper than $28. There is a guy on e-bay, his user id is sledpartsguy, he sells a weisco top end kit for 69.99. You cant beat that. Also these 400's are so easy to break apart and redo it's not even funny. By the way most of the time a $55 brush kit will fix the starter. Take it apart and clean it up, lightly sand the armature and regrease the ends and put in a new brush kit. That will probably fix it. Also clean the bendix real good and use the white lithium spray to lube it with. I have repaired 2 of the 400 starters that way.Bubba
