My bro. is wanting to get an old lt250 this summer to fix up and he had a few ????
First, can you tell me the basic dimensions,wght, heighth,etc.?
How about performance?How does a modded lt compare to say a 250r or 400 scram.?
Any certain years to avoid?
Anything you can tell me I would appreciate.

Hey, I know there are people who would like to bash on the little LT250, but from what I've seen and with ours, it is a great machine. They never hit it off well for the MX track, so they never really started getting big like the 250r Honda. Try to avoid the 85-86 year models. They had a totally different engine design. Not saying if you got ahold of a good one at a good price would be a bad deal,though. Most looking for one will go with the 87-92 models. They are similar in height and width to a 250R, but weigh just a little bit more. For performance, I think they are great. A good quality pipe with a fresh motor makes them run really well. My wife's with just a pipe would outrun a fully piped z-400 by about .3 in a drag race. It runs as hard as her fully trail modded scrambler, which is not slow at all. For the price you pay for them in comparison for what you get I dont think you can go wrong. If he is the kind that just wants good all around wheeler to play hard on, I think it would suit him well. You couldnt get my wife to sell her's now for nothing.Bubba
