02'trailblazer, lost reverse NEED HELP!!

I had the bright idea one day to take my TB out in 2+ feet of snow................BAD idea. I got stuck a few times and tried going back and forth from foward to reverse to try and free it up. After becoming thoroughly pissed off, im pretty sure i pulled it back in reverse before the RPM's dropped low enough! I heard some wonderful sounds and the reverse went bye-bye! If you guys can give me any information on what got busted, or whatever else went wrong id appreciate it! I work on cars, but these quads just arent for me to work on. Having a short temper is once again going to cost me.....haha oh well! Thanks in advance guys

Your best bet would be to get a Polaris Shop Manual for your quad and tear into the tranny. It will have a step-by-step re-build for your tranny.

Most likely, either a bent/broken shift fork, or you broke the dogs out of reverse gear.

If you can take apart a car, don't be afraid of the TB tranny. They are quite straightforward to work on. There are a couple small spring-loaded parts, so a service manual would be a great help. These are on the shift fork rods, for the detent to hold it in gear.
