Default suzuki ozark does not want to run with fuel in "on" position- needs "pri" to stay run

i can run just fine on "pri", but with the petcock on "run", she will die after a couple of minutes. switch back to "pri" and she runs fine again. Any ideas? Thanks.

If the vacuum pipe from the carb to petcock is connected and not holed, you need a new petcock. You may be able to dismantle it and find the fault, but they are tricky, and new genuine taps are expensive.

I will look into this when i get a chance. Is it ok for me to run it in the pri setting? What does it actually do? Thanks.

Pri is short for prime, the tap is working like an ordinary one in this position, fine as long as the float needle doesn't leak, but if it does, the fuel runs into the airbox and cylinder overnight. You have to change the oil and empty the cylinder and airbox if it does this.

ok thanks. The guy i bought the machine from thought it meant Primary and ran it in this position all the time. I will keep an eye on it. I did not see any holes in the hoses.
