I new to this site, hopefully I'm in the correct area. I just rebuilt my engine started up fine I also installed the upgraded ignition system from Polaris. Machine runs really good. All of a sudden the engine is leaking oil out of the weep hole near the water pump. Looks like it might of sprayed oil out of the dip stick. I't seems to me like it might have to much oil pressure. I did install a new oil pressure dowel as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm really frustrated, spent a lot of money to get to this point and have this happen.

Oil seal behind the water pump seal(#8) and if worn out it can leak engine oil out of the weep hole same as coolant can if the w/p seal is bad. Make sure on the dip stick that you have the small bolt attaching it to the engine case. A few lost the bolts and the dip stick housing can raise up and spew out oil. Not a bad idea to check that the pressure relive valve isn't stuck also. Plus welcome to the forums...

I'd still check for obvious external leaks and that the pressure relied valve dowel is free to move up and down and inserted correctly with the chamfered side down. If you have a 1/8 npt fitting for the blind plug, check that oil pressure is around 39 psi when engine is warm. Plus the oil pump needed to be primed on the 700,hope you went through that procedure.

The vent hose that terminates at the air box does have air coming thru it at an idol. I removed the dip stick and plug the opening with my thumb and a felt a light suction at idol. So it appears the crankcase pressure is ok. Next step is to check the oil pressure. Quick question, does the oil seal next to the water pump seal see crankcase pressure or does it get the oil pump pressure?

Ok, thanks. I still need to check the oil pressure. Tonight I ran the machine a good half hour around the yard. Machine ran good. I stop and started it a few times. When I finished riding I check the weep hole and there was barely one drop of oil. Much better than the last time a ran it. Any idea why? Is there a break in period for that oil seal?
