Default Anyone have any issues with their winch not fitting imside their winch mount

So I got my Viper 3000 winch today and I also got my mount and SC1. The winch doesn't fit inside the mount??? Has anyone come across this? I've seen guys mounting bigger winches.

I thought the winch attached to the front of the mount and not inside, but I've never seen that kind of mount IRL.

This is how it is supposed to be mounted inside the winch mount. This is a Polaris winch but the same mount they mount inside and the cable comes out the hole in the front

I can honestly say I've never seen a winch inside a mount like that. I saw pictures of the mounts before and mistakenly thought they were made so the winch would stick out farther to keep the cable from rubbing if you use it to raise a plow. I've seen pictures of a few ATVs that had problems with the cable rubbing the bumper because the winch was set back so far. I wish I could help.

I just ordered the kfi mount. This is the warn mount, looked the same until I realized the warn has more of and angle and indent for the tow hook on front, kfi doesn't have that. Thought I was saving $10 Lol I think this winch is physically bigger though as well but I've seen other guys posts using this winch and the kfi with no problems.
. will know this week once it comes in

well I got my kfi winch mount todayand sure enough my winch doesnt fit inside this mount either!! Wtf. I've read somewhere where other guys used this winch and mount. picture shows where it is too big. This is the moto alliance (viper) midnight edition 3000lb winch. Guys use 3500-4500 lb winches with these mounts. Only option is to buy a different winch i guess. They don't make different mounts that I'm aware of. There goes this weekend's garage fun

You should be able to get other mounts from a few different places but most likely the winch would be bolted onto the front of the mount and not inside it. A lot of winches use the same bolt pattern so a mount for something else like Warn might fit your Viper.

I'm just going to sell the winch. The sportsman 570 is set up different. It can't mount to front of winch mount. There's no room unless inwantbto remove front radiator cover. Not going that route. I tried the warn mount and the kfi. I emailed kfi today they said this winch wont work with their mount. Obviously lol. Oh well. I guess the install will be set back another week

Already tried warn it didn't work. Every single Mount option for the 570 is inside mount I know what you're saying but that's just not how the 570 setup is

It is what it is. Not that big of a deal my buddy just said he would buy it for his 2017 Honda Rubicon just have to find out what Mount works with his. Just a quick Google search I can already see that his Mount would be a front mount unlike mine so it shouldn't be a problem at all
