Default tire

Does anybody know the diameter size of my front tire. I've got a 1996 yamaha big bear 350 SE? The new tire I'm looking at now (at store) looks pretty wide, although its the right size 25x8x12.

Parts book says 25x8x12 for the 4WD, it doesn't say what size the 2wd has, though it doesn't matter as much with 2WD anyway.

They always look bigger when they are new, as they wear the do get smaller in diameter. Those new tall and course lugs on the tread make them look much bigger. As long as you stay with the correct size you will be fine

At the store, on the ad it said the Maxxi Villa's diameter was 25.4. I know my tire's size, I just want to know my diameter size. I looked on my tire, it didn't say anything. Because if you look at the face of the brand new tire from the front, they look really wide. I guess I shouldn't be looking at the diameter, i should be looking at the width. My tire is Dunlop.

The width is the 8 part of 25x8x12 and 8" is not too wide, in fact you would be hard pressed to get anything narrower, to fit a 12" rim.
