issue with 2003 polaris sportsman 700 twin battery
The battery drains if the fans come on or even when not just not a noticeable difference, the stator we bought used from ebay with a flywheel both from a 2002 they should be fine. the battery is a cheap 40 dollar battery from walmart, the fourwheeler really loses alot of power when the battery is low. i done the voltage test and off it gets about 12.1 at idle(on) gets the same i checked the front and cables where the stator leads and a black box with 2 yellow wires and 1 red had the red wire unplugged i believe this is the voltage regulator but someone told me it was the exciter. after i done that i checked if the battery light would come on when the fan comes on and it didnt but the voltage test didn't change, so same results.

If it still has the Ducati ignition system you'll have problems. 2002- to early 2004 700 had this system. Replaced by the Kokusan #2202602 kit. Check around on price as it varies. Around $500.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umQscfzwm5o

I would start putting away money for that Kokusan kit now. By the time it fails you may have enough money set aside to pay for it. I've had good luck with OEM YUASA batteries, but a lot of people save money getting Walmart batteries. There are lots of other choices in batteries too.
