Hello. I have a mule 610. My brother in law decided to float down a creek about a half mile. After getting it out and draining everything and drying it, I took the starter off to test it and found the starter solenoid would function properly. Ordered a new one and put on and now as soon as I hook up the battery the solenoid activated and won’t turn off even with key off, out of the ignition and key switch unplugged.

Any ideas?

thank you

Welcome to the forums.

Not an expert on this, and to me it sounds like there's water still in the wiring system (cut or worn wires) or the cdi somehow has shorted/gotten wet. Would check the plugs on that to make sure they're dry, and put some dielectric grease on them to make sure they stay that way.

You might want to look in the utv section to see if someone else may have had the same problem

Any time a vehicle is underwater gremlins appear! Same issues with cars and trucks from flood areas, once underwater, a thorough and complete take apart, clean, and reconnect everything is usually needed. Issues will keep developing over time from moisture/corrosion.
