To be honest I really cant see any atv manufacture makeing a stock atv much faster then a piped and filtered shee. I'm not at all saying that they cant make a 4 stroke to do this but for liability I doubt they will. They will however make 4 strokes that are like the yfz out of the box. By cutting weight and makeing posible newer 4 strokes more tuned from the crate squeezing each little bit of HP. But that will make them like the yfz with a limited aftermaket.

There is just only a few things that you can do to a 4 stroke to make it faster. Just look at cars there aftermarket consists of everything that 4 stroke engines are already being offered. Cams, pipes, filters, ignition, pistons, ect.... And there technology has been reasearched for way longer then 4 stroke atv's..

We already offer a replacement aftermarket part for everything on these things and there still not faster. In the end the only thing that they can do is put in bigger cc's. I think it will be quite a while till yamaha puts out a 800 cc race ready quad.

By the way have any of you ridden a 70hp shee. You better have your nutts straped on tight. Do you really think it would be safe for a manufacture to produce something this fast. Probley not. Untill they find a way to double the RPM's or put in a huge CC motor I doubt whell see it.

In the end I feel you will get highly tuned 4 strokes that may come close to hitting 50-60 maybe Hp. But the potential for aftermarket power will drop considerably.

Long Race all Stock would be Banshee, YFZ450, KFX700, 250r. Short Race all Stock would be YFZ450, Banshee, 250r, KFX700.

theres plenty of mods to been done to four strokes also. mill the heads, aftermarket cams, efi units, turbos, nitrous, pipes, filters, custom balancing, intake mods, hotter ignitions, different ignition curves. the list goes on and on. how deep a persons pockets are is the boundry. there's a few DS's running well over 50hp (modded) but it didn't take much to get past the hp. the 450 is a fast qaud but i've watched a few in sand drags and they were nowhere near the quickest. the two i saw beating everyone was the DS and the Banshee and those two were pretty close. the banshe won most of the time but not by much because the ds was catching him fast on the upper end. that statement has nothing to do with me owning a ds either. like i said i just put around with my cooler on the back and watch everyone else. if anyone is interested my ds may be back up for sale here real soon because i need another 4x4 quad, to much mud around here for a sport quad.

Hey I have to agree with Texas Psycho, I have raced and beat the new Yamaha 450 and it was close (couple of lengths), otherwise no stock quad has been close to me. (predator, 700Vforce, Z400, Raptor, Banshee) I'll admit that modded Banshees have kicked my butt But I am working on a little surprise for them

No, they definetly did not!!! A Bone stock yfz does not beat a piped and filted shee in a drag. A yfz is not as fast stock as you wanna believe.

i agree the yfz cant take a pipe and filtered banshee only because of the top end of a banshee . YFZ are crazy in acceleration like ive seen them pinned in take of and they dont pop they just take of.

stcok for stock the banshee still has the top end advantage

Well excuse me!!! I didn't know we were talking BONE stock. Since my YFZ was only BONE stock for 1 day, I can't really argue that one. Because I never tested it out on the drag strip. If your piped Banshee is so much faster, Than why would you waste time comparing it to a poor little BONE stock YFZ. But if you pull the baffle , take off the air box lid & rejet. BOOM!!! The YFZ is running right with a piped banshee, If not beating a piped Banshee. Put a pipe on the YFZ & it spanks the piped Banshee. I won't dispute the OVER RATED top speed factor. I'm sure the Banshee can go a couple mph faster on top end. Big deal!!!! how often is actual top speed used on a ATV? Not very often. I beat straight piped Banshees so bad in the first 300 ft that it's going to take a while to catch up.
