Default Z250..250ex

Hello everyone, I'm kinda going through a tough decision on my first Sport ATV. I currently have a 2001 Suzuki Quadrunner 250 4x4. It's been a good/decent machine, with only a few problems to occur. I have always liked Utility machines and never really payed any attention to ever wanting a Sport machine. Well, a couple of days ago I saw my friends new Yamaha Warrior. He rode some and I saw how much fun he was having on the thing. Well, since I'm pretty much out of the "If I didn't get muddy I wasted a trip" stage, I knew a Sport quad would be a lot more use to me. So here I am, I still owe $400 on my current ATV, and will be trading it in when it is payed for. Money is some sort of an issue right now, and even myself I don't want to go out and spend $6000 on a Sport quad. So it came down to these, the Z250 and the 250ex (I loved the looks of the blaster but thought it was underpowered). I know the Z250 over powers the 250ex a bit, but I like the looks of the 250ex a bit more. I want the Sport quad to be faster than my Quadrunner, which hit 53 on the main road with perfect shifting, please tell me these will out do that. As in size, I'm 14, 5'7", and weigh 125lbs, So which of the two would fit me better? Well that's all I can think of right now, any info would be appreciated. Oh, and I liked the 300ex and it would be in this list if it didn't have that terribly ugly and misplaced headlight. If you know of any other quads, feel free to bring them up. Thanks guys.

first off, the blaster has more power than the 250ex and the z250. the blaster gets to top speed alot quicker than either of the 250's. It is a two-stroke while the 250's are four strokes. The blaster has a six speed manual tranny while the 250ex and the z-250 have auto-clutch five speeds. the blaster has a faster top speed of 56 mph while the 250ex has a 50 mph top speed and the z250 has a top speed of around 54 mph. the blaster also weighs 30 lbs less than either of the 250's. The blaster can be purchased for 3000 out the door while the 250's can be bought for around 3700 out the door. The blaster has more suspension travel by an inch over the 250's. The new blasters have better brakes than the 250's too. the after market is limitless for the blaster while the 250's find their limits about after exhaust systems. You can change the gearing on the blaster with different size sprockets while the 250's have shaft drives. The only way you can change the gearing on them is by changing the tire size.

the 250's have reverse while the blaster doesn't. they also have better ground clearence because of their drive shafts. you don't have to worry about lubing chains because they don't have chains to lube. those are about the only advantages of the 250's. I chose a used blaster and it is a great bike to enter the sport with.

Go with the Z250. I'm just a little bit bigger than you are, and the size is perfect for me. The 250EX is a little small. The Blaster would be a good choice except for the ground clearance issue which really sucks (they get hung up very easy). A Blaster does have more power than either one of the 250's.

I think the Raptor is your best choice.. It pretty much outperforms all the other quads uve listed. Its your best bet.
