Default Raptor 686 vs. YFZ450

man, a quad doesn't have a door!
LOL. Maybe he meant it would blow the front fenders off the other quad. LOL.

I'm looking forward to the weekends drags with the new piston, exhaust, and other mod's I got. I'll definetly be looking for more YFZ's then normal.

The 450's are fast though. And this weekend I get the opportunity to run one at the track...GYT-R Piston, Cam Mod, exhaust, filter, and jetted up. It will be interesting to see what kind of times I can get on it.

They aren't. A fully decked YFZ450 will beat a well tuned Piped Raptor in a 300ft drag usually by
a "small" margin. Ive seen piped Raps take em out many times, and Ive done it.

My 686 however, puts plenty of bike lengths on the 450's in 300ft - sometimes as many as 6-8 lengths.
All the 450's that used to run the open classes at events around here, no longer run the open classes at
events around here. They dont even come close to any of the strong quads that run.

Just my experiences . For example, the built 450's that run in events around here, all lose at the strip to
fast Raptors, most of the built Banshees, a handful of 300-370R's (built 250R's), Cannondales, and a couple
zillas. Sure they make a close race now and again, but on the average dont do so well.

they lose to all the fast raptors but on to some of the built banshees? i would think if the banshee has very many mods it would be kicking the yfz butt in a drag.

Well, theres only a handful of built Rappys, but there are boatloads of Banshees. yfz450's can beat
up on slightly modded banshees in that short of a distance. Same reason my 686 has been taking
alot of 1st places in Open class races.... 300ft is perfect for a built 686, but not so perfect for a 535
Cheetah with no wheelie bar. I beat them all the time - seriously. They have higher trap speeds -
but I get to 300ft first and run the faster times. Make it 600ft, and I wouldnt be winning so much.

Since the post was talking about shorter drags, thats all I posted about. Longer races would benefit
the Banshees, but the longer the worse for the 450's.

It's sad that you don't understand the differnece in the two motor's, and the way they are set up in stock form. It's also sad that you doubt a well built 686.

haven't been around to many banshees so i wan't sure about that, just always hear people talk about how fast they are in drags. kinda off the subject but the other day i was bored and i picked up a mag at the store, dirt wheels i think, they had a section on fast quads and one of them was a trinity banshee. did anyone else see this and if so was the right front wheel about to fall off that thing? he had the front end up going up a dune, wonder what he was going to do when he slowed down, well actually i know what he was going to do, think i might would have just tried to bail off the back.

I have no problem beating piped yfzs. I have almost been beaten a few times by cam modded and piped yfzs. But all i have is a lowly 03 rap with 11:1 piston and stage one cam with pipe.

In other words, you would have your hands full with a mild 686 build.
