I know this is a stupid topic, but im having a tough time deciding what to do and want to know what people with licsenses would rather have...a used truck or new quad? I want to either buy a new z400 or 400ex, but Im turning 16 in november and could buy a truck instead. I already have the opurtunity to take an old 79 Caddy with low miles and just tow the quad, but im not sure if I would rather have a truck. What would any of you do? Thanks

 

thats a tough choice,but i would say get the truck because you'll always want something to drive to town and school.If the caddy looks pretty good then go with the quad.I had to make the same choice two summers ago and i went with the quad,i can't live without a quad,i love them,but two years ago i was 15 so didn't really need a vehicle right then.

 

I owned a quad for about six months before I bought a truck. Prior to that, I was towing it with a car. Towing the quad with a car was somewhat of a pain, but it worked. Anyways, when I bought my truck it was the first one that I had ever owned. I don't know why I waited so long to buy a truck (I was 30 at the time), I will never go back to driving a car. It is so much easier to load the quad in the truck and take off as opposed to loading the trailer etc. And when you get home, you just pull the quad out of the back of the truck and park it in the garage.

It really boils down to which is more important to you and how often you ride. Personally, I am a fan of the quad cabs. I am currently injured right now, so I can't drive my truck or quad and it is killing me.....

go with the truck cause you can then go out with your friends you dont have to ask for rides.Im 16 and thats what i did and now im looking for a cheep dirt bike.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Yeah, ive decided to go with the truck. For one because my dads selling the caddy, and the more i think about it the more i want a truck. Ill probably just end up waiting and buying a new quad later on once Ive got some more money. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Thats just what ill have to do mojo. Im turning 16 on the 19th of november, so i guess your 13 days older then me Deshaw. Are you going for your liscense too?

 

Nope not yet. In Massachusetts you can get your learners permit once you turn 16, i still have to take driver's ed which is gonna be a pain this winter with hockey and other stuff. So after drivers ed and getting my permit then i can drive with the drving school then finally get the license sometime in 2005, so ill have to wait a bit. My brother is getting his license august 5, turning 17 sept. 15. He was trying to choose between a car and a truck, btu ended up getting an '87 Mustang Lx 5.0

 

That sucks u cant get ur permit untill your 16, I figured the laws would be the same in mass as they are here. I guess every state is a little different, in florida u can get ur permit at 15 and a half without drivers ed. I would like to get a mustang, a camaro even more, but insurance would be way to high for a car like that. And I also want a truck to haul my wheeler.
