Mucky- here is an example...Ngk number cr8e stk plug. a 9 will be "colder" an 7 "hotter"
Buddy- If someone did his engine work, he just might be following the builders advise. But I agree, two heat ranges is a bit excessive for a thumper. my 2 cents, Bill

It is funny. the internet is a pain in the ***! To many people read something and go for it. If you are on the same machine, in the same area, same elevation, then and only then you have a reference point to start from.
I did a bunch of testing after my mods, and I still find the stock cr8e is the best performing plug for my application. Bill
