DG exhaust too loud need help!

Is there a way that I can tame down the sound of my exhaust without loosing power? I have a DG pipe with the power plates in it There are pics on (my page) I was wondering if the is a way to make that pipe sound deeper so it won't seem as loud? Can I put fiberglass in it or something?

try taking out some of the discs. it works with the disks on my CT, however, the fewer the disks, the less power. you may not notice it though.

I had a 2001 Mojave with a full DG exhaust system and it was really loud! It got annoying after awhile so I custom made a pipe tip to screw on the end of the muffler to quiet it down a little. It worked but I did notice just a small amount of power loss. Wasn't much. I just used it when ridin at my house cause I am close to a few houses. Anything you do, you will notice just a little power loss.

Thats why I was wondering if I could pack it with anything to make it sound deeper but still keep the flow?

First thing, give DG a call. Don't they make any kind of "quiet core" for that pipe? If not, cutting down the number of discs will be the only way. You will need a rejet, as you will be running rich.

Manufacturers need to wake up and realize that the old days of the really loud pipes are long gone!
