Which is quicker and faster top end, the Scrambler 400 or the 400EX?

The 400EX is alot faster off the line and has a better top end. I have raced a few scramblers and totally detroy them.

I would have to agree, I often ride with friends that have Scrambler 400's, and the stock Scrambler 400's are anemic at best compared to the EX's manual transmission, and quick revving power.

Now the Modified Scrambler 400......wellll.....I don't want to talk about that right now.....

Get the 400EX, and say goodbye to replacement belts!

aEX will beat the **** out of a scrambler. i beat a scrambler on my 86 lt250. it was no problem at all. i was ahead all the way. we had a drag race (nto sure how far it was) and a race around a flat track. beat him both times. my friend ben has a 00 400EX and he beats me all the time. 400EX vs a scrambler is like a mustang vs a go-cart.

Just a small question guys:

How much money would you have to sink into a 400ex to match a modded Scrambler? I would think a piped Scrambler with a few extra mods would have a slight advantage (power and speed) over the 400ex...

Just curious.

For a Polaris 400 to get an EX on top you will need a pipe/silencer, 38TMX/39PWK carb, head work, mild porting and some clutch tuning, at least.

I'm not up to speed with available EX mods, but I know that the only ones who can even keep up with me are running 440 kits.

Thats funny...I thought my 400 would be a little more competitive than that!

One thing I do know...It's fast enough for me!
