for the folks who are looking for a two stroke sport atv this beast is still alive. 363 pounds and 50hp. i think its enough to have good fun. its a 300cc two stroke powervalve. tomorrow i am going to see my gas gas dealer in chicoutimi. can't wait to see how much this quad cost here.

 

I JUST BOUGHT A 2004 GAS GAS 300 ALL DONE UP, CARBON FIBER WHEELS EXHAUST VALUE WORK, MX TECH WOODS REVALVE, CARBON FIBER HOOD, BARS, I PAID $5300 NEVER TITLED FROM A DEALER IN PA. THIS THING IS AWESOME, MY LAST QUAD WAS A DONE UP LT250 87 WITH A LT500 ON IT, ALL CroMOLY, WORKS, LEAGER BUT IT DIDN'T HOOK UP LIKE THIS DOES. THE 300 MOTOR IS PERFECT LINEAR POWER IT FEELS PERFECT IN POWER TRANSFER. IT LOOKS LIKE IT SITS LOW IN THE BACK, UNTIL YOU GIVE IT GAS, AND IT LIFTS UP THE REAR AND JUST HOOKS ALL ITS POWER TO THE GROUND. IT IS WAY FASTER THAN MY 90HP LT500. BECAUSE OF THE SUSPENSION AND GEARING AND PROGRESSIVE LINEAR POWER BAND. SMOOTH IN EVERYWAY, IS THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE IT. AND DIRT TRACK PEOPLE KNOW SMOOTH IS FAST. AND YES IT IS WAY FASTER THAN A DONE UP HONDA 250R.

 

50 hp and 363 lbs? Hmmm... My 450R weighs 363, and with simple mods is makes close to 50 hp at the rear wheels...

I didn't think I'd like thumpers as much as I do now. I raced so many 2-strokes and had to put up with either no power and a smooth delivery, or lots of power and a pipey powerband. I can't say enough about the 450's today. The 300 might be nice, but there's a reason so many thumpers are winning races these days...

 

so many people are winning races on 450's beacuse thats all that is running now. i rode all the new 450's ltr, yam, hon, the fun factor just isn't there like it was when the 250's and 500, 2strokes were around, but this gas gas is new technology with fun linear 2 motor. i just couldn't see paying up 7'gs four a 4stroke that needs more maintance than a 2 stroke, almost bought a ltr450 new dealers have them for $4999 no wonder. but a tranny recall is coming soon for those machines and efi recall also. thery are just trying to dump 06 models even the 07 are going to have the tranny problems.

 

come out to pikes peak and u'll see a place where 2 stokes still rule....and i hate it.

 

well sorry to rain on your parade, but that is just nonsense. yes the gasgas300s are fast in their own rights but you say faster than your 90hp zilla? first of all i highly doubt you have a 90 hp zilla and if the gasgas300 could beat even my stock zilla i would have to kill myself. the gasgas quads are expensive for what they deliver IMP. also a 'done up' 250R would easily keep up if not spank the gasgas. especially on the MX track
