Default Need advice for new quad

I am going to purchase a quad, just not sure which one I should get. Want to do a little of everything (trail, track, dunes). I was looking at yamaha, honda, suzuki 450's, the Kaw 700 auto, raptor 700. Also was looking at a new 2006 polaris predator 500 TLD. I can get the predator for $4999 ($1500-$2000 less than the other quads). Seems for the price the predator is a good deal. Any recommendations.

Raptor700 is the best do it all quad that you have listed in the group, I have a 03 raptor 660 (bought new in Feb 2003) and have never had any problems with it, and I know the raptor 700 is much improved on what I have so I would go with the raptor700.

That is a great deal on a TLD Predator. The TLD is going to come with the upgraded Fox suspension with rezzies. The Preddy and Raptor 700 are both great quads but that $1500 to $2000 savings will buy pipes, filter and jets for the Preddy and still have a grand left over.

For that price you'd be insane to pass up the Predator..... that's less than I paid for my KFX400 ........

First off, that Kawi is a huge monster and isn't really even a sport quad. You mentioned "track" riding, and seiously do you really want to ride that thing on a track???? I'd show up to see that!

You didn't mention anything in the 400 class. These are great machines, and I think the Z400 is perhaps the best all-around machine out there. Lots of hop-up potential in that engine. Great for the trail and passable on a track, but a little underpowered for the dunes. The Raptor would be my 2nd choice as an all-arounder.

All the 450's like to rev, so I pass them up for tight trail riding. Good for track and dunes though.

I have never been able to warm up to any Polaris product...........
