id deffinatly go with the yfz , the only thing good about raptors is that they are fast, but if your trail riding and going to the sand dunes the yfz would probably be better

the raptor 700 would be much better for the type of riding u do and for your size. the raptor 700 is a much much better trail quad than the 450 do to the fact that it has much more tq and makes power in much lower rpms than the 450s. and 05 and older yfz450s have piston lube problems.

Default YFZ 450 or Raptor 700r?

yes i did, thank you for all the help, i bought an 05 yfz with tag handlebars and a duncan fatboy, it runs good but the pipe gets really hot, today i rode it and the pipe got red while i was riding, any ideas? im bringing it to a shop to have it looked at and fix any problems

make sure you get the piston oil mod done or u will be going though top ends on a regular basis

It's normal. They all get real hot. I have a pair of riding jeans with a hole from getting too close to that exhaust. Nothing to worry about.

you dont have to but it is highly recomended to get the longest life out of your engine.
