a 2-stroke is a heck of a way to learn.. what kind of riding do you plan to do with it? that dictates the ride you should seek. do you want something that i guarantee can scare ya? or something just for fun with plenty of power to grow on... i can suggest a few rides that'll really smack your pee-pee

Our buddie Max6x6 would tell you to get the Max6x6 for your type of riding.[or any type of riding for that matter]But myself and RoostKing are right on the money by saying the Blaster or 300ex would be the quad for you.Best of luck on whichever you choose. BILL

I know that the 300EX has a maual clutch, but what the Blaster have? I hope its a semi auto with the foot shifter like on a Big Bear 4x4.

Isn't the 300 EX a little small for a guy 5'-10"? Maybe a Warrior will suit him better. Some say it may not be as good in the woods as a 300 EX but it is definitely faster than the Blaster and EX.

My 2 cents.....keep the change!

Not to mention the Polaris Sport 400(Scrambler ) is a pretty easy machine to learn on. Maybe a TrailBlazer 250 would be a better choice for a beginning rider? They have decent power, auto clutch, and can be hopped up a bit.

Sport400,
That's funny ya now. Up until '99 when the 400EX was made the Sport was 2nd fastest to only the Banshee. But hey all the "experts" say Polaris' are slow. Now the Banshee & soon to be released DS650 are faster. Don't believe Dirtwheels though, from what I've seen if a Sport & 400EX raced either could win anytime.
ps> I'm not including those Husabergs or whatever they are. They are like Aliens... heard about them, never seen them.
I agree with you guys a Sport or TB would be good too.
c-ya,
