I'd have to go red with this one. i've owned a little trx70, never changed the oil once in ten years, didn't know what a air filter was, and drove it like crap and it still runs to this day, only had to replace a dry-rotted fuel line. owned two yamaha dirt bikes, both were crap. muffler fell of, swingarm broke, chain always fell off, tires went flat....you get it. now i got the old 98' 300ex and a 00'400ex, the 300ex has been put through pure hell since i drove it out the dealership. keep the oil changed, and filter clean and it will run forever. it is absolutely bulletproof!! the 400??? well, i'm takin' it easy on it becouse it's more show and save than daily driver.

My family currently owns an 85? TRX125, 87 Moto4 100cc, 95 XR250, 95 Warrior, 97 Kodiak, and a 98 XR100. They all serve us well. I haven't had a problem with my bikes at all except the normal stuff. I'd say it's a tie.

Sorry guys,I have to go with Honda this time.Reliability?,talk about it!I have an '84 ATC200S and the only thing i've had to check or change or replace is the oil, spark plug and fenders. My friend has a tri-z that i rode and the only thing I like more about it is the top speed and the rear suspension(I really like the rear suspension part,God!).My 200S has more bottem end and is quicker, but i would neve race it in the long run!

I think all the Japanese bikes are well made but I think the Honda's are the best. I bought my 85 250r five years ago and proceeded to do some serious performance work to the motor while not rebuilding the bottom end and have had NO troubles. Oh yeah, I ride the hell out of it too, long top end stints on fire roads and frozen lakes without a failure. Just change the oil, use good fuel (no pump gas), use good synthtic oil (MC1-50:1), keep the air filter clean and all jap bikes will last.

I think that Yamahas are ballz to the wall no frills machines while Hondas are more comfortable luxurary bike.
