Hello all. I'm new to the ATV comunity. I'm going to buy a 2001 Honda 400EX in a few days. (I read posts from everyone here, and the 400EX seems to fit me best). I'm just wondering what kind of attention should we give to the ATV? What kind of maintenance and/or repair you guys are doing daily or monthly to keep them in shape? Also, is there a know website where beginers like me can learn more about modifications? I'm reading people posts about mods, but I dont even know what particular word or expression mean... and I have to say, I know very low about mechanics. Am I lost oin the woods, or there is a way to light me up? Thank you.

I'm sure your going to be very happy with your 400ex. Your manual will help you in knowing when and what to maintain on your new quad. There's nothing to hard just things like...change oil, clean air filter, keep chain lubed, check tire pressure...pretty basic stuff and you should not have too many problems for years to come.

If you have any questions just post them up or do a search of topics with a key word of your question and you should get lots of help and opinions. Also, you should consult your dealer, they can be most helpful and informative and help you make the best decisions and not based just on someones 'opinion' here in these forums.

As far as the lingo it's just like anything else, the more you get into it the more you understand.

Just remember to always wear a helmet and have fun!
