2003 Predator off Idle bog

Default 2003 Predator off Idle bog

Hey guys. Posting here as a last resort. I got 03 Preddy 500. Hi comp wiseco. Hi flow k&n air intake and hmf exhaust. Im having a major problem with it bogging right off idle if i punch the gas. Of i go lightly i can work past it. If I hammer the throttle itll die. Been through the carb 5 or more times. All new jets and rebuild kit. Lots of cleaner and air. Cant figure this out at all. Im thinking its getting to much fuel. 170 main and stock pilot. Aot screw is 2.5 out. Thanks in advance

May be a rich bog or lean bog.Drop the slide needle a couple positions and see if that helps any.If not go the other way. If it's worse,then I'd go down to a 160-165 main and see how it does. You still may have to play with the needle position plus always plug chop it. Should end up with a tan to medium brown color on the plug. A 150 main jet is stock on this machine.Even with the freer flowing exhaust and filter it may not need too big of a jump over stock jetting.

Thanks for the response OPT. I played with the carb today. Discovered that when i used my hand to choke off some air from the carb it came to life. So i started to raise the needle and gradually added fuel. Im now at a 175 main with clip at lowest setting and its running good. Being unable to raise the needle anymore i cant imagine it wants a larger main still. Opinions?

Air box on during testing? If not it will be lean and affect jetting.If box and filter is on,175 main jet and runs good,plug chop it and see what the plug looks like.If color is good then I'd call it a day and just ride.
