Thinking about an Eiger...

I see an ad in Cycle Trader for a dealer in No. Ohio selling the LTF400F, which IIRC is the Automatic 4x4 for $3950 (I'm assuming there are some sizeable rebates in that price).

I am planning on driving up this weekend to check them out, what's the opinion of this quad and the price? Should I jump on it, or are there any problems I should be aware of with the bike?

(BTW, I'm a noob to the forum, obviously)

Don't everyone answer at once!

So I take it this isn't a very popular quad?

Hey swingset,I dont own one myself but I've heard a lot of good things about them and the price seems
to be in order. You might try an advanced search in the suzuki section.

Great bike and a great price - as long as it's not loaded with extras like set up, delivery etc. The LTF-400F is the five speed version of the Eiger 4x4, pretty sure MSRP is $5,150. The automatic Eiger 4x4 is the LTA-400F.

Mine has been a great quad and i have enjoyed it alot. I would choose a 5-speed but thats just my opinion, the Automactic aint nuthin good for just trailriding thats what i say. I havent had any problems with mine yet except for the Valves need adjusting already and i just adjusted them about 300 miles ago but that aint no big deal.

I purchased a new Eiger 4x2 automatic just about 2 months ago. I paid $4200 plus tax, no additional BS such as set up, prep, or freight. I feel like I got a pretty good deal.

This is the first ATV I have owned. So far I think this is a great machine for what I need it for. (Trail riding, finding new fishing holes, and getting muddy). I ride with several other people and I can tell you that the Eiger automatic has the fastest acceleration over the others I ride with. Top speed is about 52 MPH. It has good ground clearance and handles pretty good (even with a second person on it).

The only negative things I have discovered so far is it has a slightly highter center of gravity (I rolled it once going across a hill) but it is easy to overcome that with expierence riding it. Also had a small problem with the brake light not working. I took it into the shop and they fixed it under warranty.
