that video was such a setup to make the yfz a look like it could rip apart the banshee. (not that it isnt) they made it look like david and goliath. its ridiculous. either that, or the z400 rider really really suked ***. its sooo obvious...im gonna write them an email...thats just so embarassing for the Z owners like me and gives us a bad reputation and i will not allow it.

 

What a great movie.... Yamaha paid my 85 year old grandmother to ride that z400 in the Video.... boy she made some money off that one... My brother is about to purchase the new Yami.... I have a z400, Yoshi full Ti pipe, Prodesign filter, and I'm jetted with an open box... I can't wait to see how that yami with even Mods will do.... I have to admit, sounds like I might be needing the Yoshi z450 kit sooner than I thought.... I have to say though..... I still love my z400 for what I paid, that Yami better kick my *** !!

 

Nice of Yamaha to rig a video like that of a Z getting killed huh? Let them believe it. I'll be ready.

GTThunder has all the inakke, ehaust, cam and other mods done to it and it's making 48 HP. Not too good for a 440 IMO.
It's really hard to overbore with the ceramic cylinder I've heard too.

 

It's not Yamaha the did the video.. we shouldn't blame them. It was the jokers at that web site. They're worse than banshee owners now. And making enemies of them as well I'm sure.

One intersting note in the video.. the Yami was stock, but it sure was loud. The Z was "tricked out", but it sure was quiet.

All a bunch of jokers over there. hehe..

 

haha i emailed yfzracer.com saying that that video was the biggest crock of sh**... u wanna know wut they wrote back!? this is exactlywhat they wrote, "Sorry you feel that way, but the video is 100% real, and was never staged. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]" lemme tell ya, they got sum ***** to do sumthin like that. i hope suzuki comes down on there ***...and ure rite...they are just as bad as the banshee owners...if not worse

 

I went to the local track yesterday during practice. There were 2 450's there. Let me put it this way, I wasn't impressed. To me, it's a lot of hype again. Nice looking quads, and both riders say they ride nicer than the Raptor, but when I asked about it being quicker than a Raptor, they both shruged their shoulders with a look of disapointment on their faces.

 

Well, I can say this about that. If they claim it also whoops a 'dale then you know they're full of it. I've dragged every bike out there and the only one that beat my Z by enough to say "wow" was the DS. And that wasn't until higher gears when it passed and got about 4 lengths on me.

According to this video, the YFZ blows everything away... you can tell it's a crock just by looking at it. I know it's faster, mainly because of the 39mm FCR carb, but no friggin way that much.

Not to mention, from what I've seen and read, 95% of Z owners don't have a clue on how to mod or jet their bikes. Neither do the pipe manufacturers. Pipe, airbox lid off a 170 main... please...

You say there's no way a YFZ 450 can beat a cannondale in a drag race? Well I can't say what a stock YFZ would do against one. Because I never raced one when mine was stock (But most the cannondales that I see are running some kind of aftermarket pipe.
But all my 450 has is a pipe, airbox mods and the carb jetted. And I was beating every cannondale I raced at pismo over the 4th at the flats. So I would say there is a way.
