Thats a good question.

the main thing here is, what quadracer are you refering to?
If its the quadracer500 (quadzilla) then yes, its one of the best duners out there. But my guess would be that it isnt that giood of a woods racer, why? because it is VERY heavy, ya know 500cc engines arent to light.

If you are refering the the Quadracer250 (Like mine) then it is used for both, ive used it for both. Back in the day when not everyone raced a honda 250r, the LT250r was its competition, other than the Tecate, its basicly , ONLY competition, and it competed AWFULLY WELL!

What happened you may ask? i dont know actually, most people are racing the hondas, but you still see the ocaisional quadracer out there on the tracks, i think people just liked red better, so they focused more attention on it.

If the honda 250r is so great why was it only produced for 4 year (86, 87, 88 , 89) and the quadracer produced for 8 years (85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92)

In my opionion the quadracer is the MOST important QUAD ever, think about it, if it was made in 85, and the trx wasnt made till 86, hmm whered they get the ideato make the 250r? the Suzuki Quadracer IS the FIRST sport QUAD ever made. and after that, in 87, look what yamaha came out with a twin 350? (Banshee , well i think it was 87, maybe 88) but i think suzuki mainly got the ball rolling for HighPerformance quads, anyone think otherwise?

WEll its hard to tell what i favor, but thats the way DirtWheels put it, somewhat, about it being the most important, because it was the first. (im not including trikes in the QUADS section here, just so ya know)

to make a long story short, the lt250r is a great woods racer. and duner, the 500 is a great duner/ dragster, maybe people run them iun the open class for woods, but i dont know.

Thats my opinion, not spoken to offend/upset anyone, its just what i think, and your not gonna change that!

sorry i got off track ther

I get the impression that the Quadracer is more of a duner(like the Banshee), but how is it as an aggressive trail/woods quad?

Well, I was refering to the LT250R. They are both quadracers, but I pretty much just refer to the 250 as "quadracer" and the 500 as "quadzilla".

I think that when the Honda 250R came out, it was the newer, supposedly better thing, so people started leaning towards it and simply followed the trend. I have only seen 1 Quadracer in the races, and that was on Quad Wars.

That's a good point on the fact that the Quadracer was made 2 times as long as the TRX250R, but don't take that against the machine. Afterall, the amount of time it was produced may say something, but it is how the machine performs that really counts. The Quadracer is definately the MOST IMPORTANT quad ever. It started this whole sport quad/hi-performance, and people need to give it some major props for that. Was it the FIRST EVER quad(4 wheels)? The idea of the TRX250R did come from the Quadracer...I mean, just look at this: TRX250R - LT250R. Pretty similar with that alone. You do have to remember that the Quadracer is the MOST IMPORTANT quad ever, but also remember that the Honda 250R is the BEST EVER. In other words, Suzuki started this whole hi-performance thing, but Honda possibly mastered it with the 250R.

The Banshee's first year was 1987, and Suzuki possibly sprouted the idea for that also. The quadracer brought the whole idea of making a hi-performance quad to all manufacturers.

Also, the Tecate-4 was Made in 1987, along with the Mojave. With all these other sport quads coming in a year after the Quadracer, it is clear that the Quadracer is the most important quad ever, possibly responsible for the hi-performance quad world...

Of course, some other manufacturer probably would have come up with it if Suzuki hadn't, but Suzuki did, so a major shout out goes to Suzuki for the Quadracer...

The Honda was more popular because it "felt" better. Maybe it won more races too?

Yeah, the Honda 250R is supposed to feel and perform better than the quadracer. It seems as if Honda just took it to another level.
